A socially awkward but very bright 15-year-old girl being raised by a single mom discovers that she is the princess of a small European country because of the recent death of her long-absent father, who, unknown to her, was the crown prince of Genovia. She must make a choice between continuing the life of a San Francisco teen or stepping up to the throne.

This movie unlike most movies with princess in the title is not animated nor kiddish. I like to snuggle up on my bungee chair and just watch. The first movie is about a regular teenager who finds out she is a Genovian princess. I would definitely recommend this movie to any age 1-100.
the movie was so awesome that i almost couldn't get off the couch. the book was better even though it has cuss words.

It's funny, and affirming-your entire family will luv it!

Academy award Julie Andrews, enchanting newcomer Anne Hathaway and Hector Elizono lead a charmed cast in Disney's "princess diaries, a hilarious, hip and heartwarming modern day Cinderella story. Mia Therompolis is a bright but terribly shy and gawky teen whose goal is to survive each school day with a minimum of attention and embarrassment.
This movie is hilariously fun! Princess Mia is about to become queen and falls in love with her "Prince Charming". Between princess classes and planning her wedding Mia wonders if she'll ever be ready to take the throne.
Even though I want to watch it, I'll still give it a four because I watch about half of it, I really loved it. I recognized the princess right away because she was Anne Hathaway, and I love her
